Eaton Showcases Latest Power Quality Solutions for Virtual Environments at CeBIT 2013

CeBIT, 5th-9th March 2013 – Hannover Messe, Germany
Stand F40, Hall 15 (Planet Reseller) & Stand A58, Hall 4 (BITKOM World)

ESPOO, Finland … At this year’s CeBIT event in Hannover, diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton will present its comprehensive range of power quality solutions for everything from server rooms to large data centres, in both virtualised and non-virtualised environments. On Stand F40 in Hall 15 – an area dedicated exclusively to distributors called ‘Planet Reseller’ – resellers will be able to see how Eaton’s products and services address the needs of their customers with server rooms and small data centres. On Stand A58 in Hall 4 – called ‘BITKOM World’ and presented in partnership with the BITKOM association – Eaton’s Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions for data centres and large IT environments will be on display.

“When investing in information infrastructure and equipment in the future, end customers and their supporting resellers must take virtualised environments into account in order to optimise their asset utilisation and ensure business resilience”, says Cyrille Brisson, EMEA Power Quality Vice President at Eaton. “At CeBIT we will be introducing new products, the Eaton 93PM and 9PX UPSs, both good examples of our reaction to the current challenges in the IT world, featuring best-in-class efficiency, modularity and capacity for expansion, while fully supporting virtualised loads. We want to develop offers that meet demand and protect virtualised environments, and retain and grow with partners that are capable of integrating our offers within solutions that support end-users’ business needs.”

Visitors to both stands will be able to find out about Eaton's Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) software for the monitoring and management of power devices. This innovative software is certified VMware Ready which is VMware’s highest level of endorsement with Eaton being the first power management company to achieve it. IPM enables easy integration of UPS units with leading virtualisation IT platforms such as VMware vCenter, Microsoft HyperV, Citrix XEN and Red Hat KVM.

Among the product highlights at Hannover will be Eaton’s recently released 9PX series; the next generation of energy efficient 5 to 11 kVA UPSs for virtualised environments. The 9PX series meets the latest requirements for energy efficiency and reliability and performs at an efficiency of up to 95% in double conversion mode and 98% in optional high-efficiency mode. As a result, these units are particularly suitable for IT and facilities managers who are targeted with managing rising energy costs and consumption.

Eaton will also demonstrate its strong commitment to energy efficient power quality solutions for the data centre space with the Eaton 93PM; a new generation of UPSs covering power ratings from 30 to 50 kVA and offering industry-leading levels of energy efficiency in a compact 0.5 m2 footprint. In double conversion mode, the 93PM units are designed to perform at an unmatched 96.7% efficiency and protect critical load from any abnormalities in utility power. The 93PM has been designed to meet the reliability needs of IT managers in the most demanding environments including virtualised and cloud data centres, co-location facilities and mission-critical applications.
